Enlightened Awareness..ness!

Few people are aware of certain events
that took place in the past.
Some are quite content to leave it that way.
I am not one of those some, but rather
I am one of those who feel the need to enlighten
some of the some that are content in not being a part of the
few that are not aware of certain events!

Can't think of anything funny!

I love to hide little things in my cartoons.
Makes it more fun.

Cartoon of the Absurd

It always amazes me how many people

miss the humor of this particular cartoon!

Most of the time they will look at it and say something like,

"I don't see what is so terrifying about a little baby duck mummy."

To which I reply, "Exactly!"

"Exactly what?" will be the usual response.

I weep as they scratch their heads.

A Study in Pen and Ink

I saw a drawing of a woman on the Internet that intrigued me.

I liked the way the artist had created the shadows on the figure by

simply making the lines bolder and thicker.

By contrast, highlights were depicted by eliminating

the line completely.

I'm sure this was not the first time this technique

had been utilized, but it caught my eye.

I found it so pleasing that I tried my hand at it

and found that it was really fun to draw.

I hope, should the creator of the original see my clumsy attempt,

he/she will not sue me for plagiarism but rather,

be flattered that it was liked so much.

By the way, the toad stool, rocks and creeping fog, are mine.
Does anyone know why
some posts have wider
line spaces than others??
It's making me crazy!

A side step

Rather than deprive my many fan
of the enjoyment of my vast creativity, while I continue to work on my
artwork and cartoons, I have decided to add a bit of
class to my Blog by way of the written word.
The first story is entitled,
Helping Hands
by Me
Josh sat across the table looking into Ludmilla's eyes.
They were the one thing that first drew him to her and
he never grew bored with their beauty.
"Are you sure that this is the right move, Josh?", Ludmilla asked.
"I have never been more certain of anything in my life!" Josh answered,
but then went on, "The only problem I can see is the packing!
Between work and all, I have very little time to box things up
and prepare for the move to your place!" He said sounding frustrated.
Ludmilla reached out and took Josh's hand in hers,
"You know I am more than willing to lend you a hand..or two." She said laughing.
"Are you sure? I know you are busy,
what with your practice and all"! Josh asked.
"Not at all!" she said.
With that Josh took her hands in his and walked out the door.
As Ludmilla sat the table looking at Josh leave with her hands,
her nose began to itch.
The End

Fell off the saddle

Just finishing a picture that will (God willing) be posted soon.
Hoped to start on the cartoons again but due to a problem with
supplies, tools, equipment and a destructive 5 year old male child
it will be quite some time before I am able
to purchase the supplies I need to get going again.
Everyday it seems I find more stuff either ruined, broken
or missing.
I know!
Waaaaa, call a wambulance!

Dedicated to The Frog

Sorry,
But it wouldn't have worked if I'd have written,
"Violators will be froged

I think I have a problem with the scanner
because Sheri says the clarity sucks..sorry.

Tragedy strikes the Centipede Club

I will be back later to write something funny but,

at the moment I am too emotionally

over-wrought to be humorous!

Such a senseless tragedy!

(And NO, I do not know why there is a big frigg'n space in between the lines!)

Heeere we go!!

This is the first of the new format of Outside the box.
I hope you like it. If not, tell me why.
Don't pull any punches, as that will not help me make it a better strip!

Thanks!

New twist on an old theme

The cartoons, soon to be debuted in this blog,
are a new layout for an older toon theme that has been on the "drawing board"
for a while. They were originally a single panel cartoon
that appear here in the last few posts.
Please let me know what you think of them.

Variation on a theme

Back in 74 my first wife, Janice, and I were living in Santa Ana
and were driving behind a car that had
two young college girls sitting out of the rear windows.
They had removed their tops amd were waving
certain anatomical parts at passing motorists,
of which I was one.
To this day, I thank God that my eye sight, at the time, was 20/20.

Latter Day Snails/Slugs

All that's missing is
the mop bucket, the salt shaker
and the candles.
The scary part is:
Someone, somewhere out there
knows what I am talking about.

Another day in the park (National Park, that is)

I've actually had people ask me why I used
such a weird name. Gutzon Borglum was his real name!

Honest!

But, I didn't know
Jefferson wore glasses.

A dinner in with friends

Somehow, I don't believe Watson's dinner will be appreciated.
Sometimes Holmes can be such a prig.
(Yes I spelled it right, you pig!)

The most important meal of the day!!

This cartoon, while extremely sickening, is actually based on
the fact that the critters he is eating are high in protein
and very healthy.
I'll take their word for it.
I can't stand Rice Krispies!

New birdyology breakthrough

Not many people are aware that a bird's practice of regurgitating food to feed their young, while disgusting, is also the way most are able to maintain their figures.

To this day, few birds are found with weight problems, or classified as obese.

This is a fact based theory that I just thought up!

Note to Dave: I used spell check and found three booboo's. Fixed em.

Good old Violet, always ready to straighten everyone out!
At little or no cost.
Unfortunately, as in most cases, it's worth is usually what you pay for it.

S.O.S.D.Y. (same old s---, different year)

George must have received new
sweaters for Christmas.
But, I see he has the same old Violet.
