Discovering 2 old friends

While visiting our grandchildren in Mississippi, I was happy to see that my oldest daughter, Tracy Barron had found and hung on her wall two pen & ink drawings I had drawn 20 some odd years ago. It was while we lived in 29 Palms, California. From an idea given me by my brother-in-law, Dave Stancliff, I did a series called, "Twelve Steps Through 29 Palms". Twentynine Palms was and is a little town in the desert right next to Joshua Tree. The area is full of history from its founding by Colonel Henry Washington in 1854 (depicted here), to the mounted manhunt to capture a killer named Willie Boy (made into a movie starring Robert Blake as Willie Boy).
I will go into a little more detail on tomorrow's posting of the other drawing.

This post sure brings back memories.

I'm glad I'm out of that hot hellhole?

I think it's a great idea to share other types of art/illustration you have done in the past.

Keep up the good work oh hefty one!
